Android Auto will give you voice-guided navigation, estimated arrival times, live traffic information, lane guidance and more with Google Maps or your favorite navigation app.

- Say "Hey Google" or select the microphone

- Say what you'd like to do.
.You can speak naturally and be understood when you talk to Gemini.
You can also use regular voice commands with Gemini or Google Assistant:
- "Take me home."
- "Navigate to [location]."
- "Directions to [shop name]."
- "Navigate to work."
- "Drive to [address]."
- "Stop navigation."
While you use Google Maps to navigate, you can open Settings 
- On your car display, tap the app launcher

- Select your favorite navigation app to browse destinations and get directions.
If your navigation app has a search function and you want to type in a destination with your car screen, you must put your car in park (P).
There are three quick options to select a destination with Google Maps.

Recent will show places you’ve been to recently and suggestions based on your recent searches on Google Maps.

Categories lets you select from options such as gas stations, coffee shops, and more.
- Saved locations will display the locations you have saved to your Google Maps account.
From Android Auto, follow these steps to set a destination with Google Maps:
- Tap Search or this icon

- Select Recent, Categories, or Saved.
- Select a result to start navigation.
Put your car in park (P). With Android Auto on your car screen, you won't be able to type in your destination until you do so.
- Open Google Maps
or your favorite navigation app.
- You can select Home or Work if you have those addresses in your Contacts. Or to open the keyboard on the car screen or your mobile device, select search
.
- Enter your destination. Some examples of things you can type are:
- Union Square, San Francisco
- Philz Coffee
- 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA
- If multiple locations come up, confirm the one you want and follow the directions to your destination.
.While you navigate with Google Maps, you will see color-coded traffic conditions on highways and roads where information is available. To turn traffic information on and off, follow these steps:
- Tap settings

- Tap Traffic.
- To turn traffic information on, tap the toggle to change it from off to on.
- To turn traffic information off, tap the toggle to change it from on to off.
Charging recommendations
Important: This feature is only available in select countries and for select EV models. If battery predictions and charging recommendations are supported for your vehicle, you'll see "Battery predictions" checked under supported features when setting up your vehicle profile.
To see the estimated battery usage for trips, you must first add a compatible electric vehicle (EV) to Google Maps on your phone and confirm in Android Auto once prompted.
Note: Traffic and weather conditions may increase battery usage more than initially predicted.When you enter a destination, Google Maps estimates the amount of battery you will use for the trip and the number of charging stops you will need to charge your vehicle. You will see the estimated battery usage along with a button to Add charging on your car screen
Once you tap the button to Add charging, you will be asked to input your battery percentage at the start of your trip. Google Maps will then automatically add charging stops to your trip and show you both your starting battery percentage and estimated percentage on arrival.
You can change the stops automatically added by Google Maps. You can also set your preferred arrival battery at destination and Google Maps will update charging recommendations.
