You can tailor different elements of Gemini in Chrome to better reflect your style, preferences, and personal needs. Change the way Gemini sounds, how you interact with it, the services it can connect to, and more.

Use skills in Gemini in Chrome to complete tasks faster

When you find a useful AI prompt -- like asking Gemini to calculate protein macros for a recipe or to compare product specifications across multiple tabs -- you don’t need to type it from scratch on a new page to try it again. Use Skills in Chrome to save your most helpful prompts and run them with a single click on any page you visit.

A skill works directly with the page you currently see. When you use a skill, Gemini in Chrome reads the content on your active tab and applies your saved instructions to it. You can also discover and remix ready-to-use skills from a built-in library.

Here are some examples:

  • Protein max: Change a standard recipe by inserting high-protein substitutes wherever possible.
  • Check job fit: Analyze a job description against your background and resume to help figure out if you're a good fit for the role and highlight important experiences.
  • Explain simply: Translate the complicated text you’re reading using simpler terms and analogies that even a kindergartener could understand.
