Google Street View cars capture images from public roads, which might include your home. If an image contains inappropriate content, or you prefer your home, vehicle, or full body not be shown, you can request it to be blurred. Only the home owner or tenant is eligible to request a house blur. Requests for blurring of property in the US must be accompanied by a document with proof of address. Individuals without a formal street address may still request blurring through the same verification process. In addition, Google uses cutting-edge technology that is designed to blur identifiable faces and license plates in Street View imagery.
When we receive and apply a blur request, the blur is permanent. We also ensure that the newly blurred Street View image is excluded from generative AI prompting from that point onward, honoring your privacy choice. However, new blur requests do not affect any AI-generated imagery that has previously been created or published by third parties.
