- AI-powered answers store the answers that you’ve been given, which could include your location.
- Lens in Maps may store your location.
- Gemini in Navigation may store your location.
- When you click on a place and ask a question about it, Maps doesn't use or collect your location.
How Maps personalizes AI-powered responses for you
If you have Web and App Activity turned on, Maps will personalize AI-powered responses using information from your account, including:
- Maps history, like things you searched for and places you got directions to
- Saved lists or labels you added to places
- Reviews, ratings and photos you posted for places
- Activity from your Search history to help tailor to your tastes and preferences
How data improves AI-powered features in Maps
We do not use the questions you type into Google Maps to train our AI models, though we do analyze them to improve our products and services.

AI-powered answers can sometimes be incorrect. Be sure to double-check responses:
