Google Vids is an AI-powered video creation app for work. Use Vids to create, write, produce, edit, collaborate, and share your videos.

Important:
- New features for Vids are rolling out gradually, and may not be available to you yet.
- Videos created with Google Vids have a maximum duration of 30 minutes. Limits are subject to change. Learn about limits for Google Vids.

Learn about browser compatibility with Google VidsYou can use Vids on your computer with the two most recent versions of these browsers:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Windows only: Microsoft Edge
Other browsers may work, but you might not be able to use all of the features.
Tip: Currently, you can’t edit or comment in Vids in Safari. You can use playback after a video is processed.

Create a new video
You can create a new video, or make a new version of a video already created in Vids by copying and editing a video that’s already been made.
- On your computer, open a new video in Google Vids.
- Or, in your browser’s address bar, you can enter:
vids.new.
- Or, in your browser’s address bar, you can enter:
- In the start menu, select Landscape, Portrait, or Square.
- Choose an option to create a new video:
- Veo: Generate video clips*
- Enter a prompt to generate and transform your ideas into custom video clips.
- AI avatar*
- Narrate with an avatar to add personality to your video.
- Convert Slides
- Create a video from a Google Slides presentation, where each slide becomes a scene and speaker notes are imported as the scripts. Learn how to convert Google Slides into Google Vids.
- Record
- Record yourself, your screen, or both.
- Build your video with a video, audio, or screen recording. Learn how to record a video or audio clip.
- Upload
- Upload your own clips and images. Learn how to add images, GIFs, or video clips to a video.

Copy a video
You can copy an existing video in Google Vids to build a new or updated version.
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- From your video, click File

- You can copy the full video or selected scenes.

Edit & format a video
You can add, edit, or format text, images, or videos in each scene and you can customize transitions between scenes.

Share & collaborate with Vids
You can share your videos and select whether collaborators can view, edit, or comment on them.
You can choose to share videos created in Vids as:
- Google Vids files
- MP4s in Google Drive
- MP4s downloaded to your device
- YouTube videos
Tip: To collaborate with others on your video, share as a Google Vids file and choose an access level:
- Commenters: Can add comments to the video but can’t make changes to the video.
- Editors: Can add comments and make changes to the video.
- On your computer, open Google Vids.
- From your video, at the top right, click Share
.
- Add the people, groups, or events you want to share your file with.
- Click the drop-down that appears after you add people to select access level:
- Viewer
- Commenter
- Editor
- Click Send.
- On your computer, open Google Vids.
- From your video, next to "Share
," click Quick sharing options
.
- To export as an MP4 to Drive, click Export to Drive
.
- To open the MP4 file in Drive, click Open now.
- To update access and find the link to your file:
- Open the MP4 file.
- At the top right corner, click Share
.
- On your computer, open Google Vids.
- From your video, click File
Make a copy
MP4 (.mp4) or GIF animation (.gif).
- Your file downloads as a .mp4 or .gif file that you can share with others to watch.
If you own a YouTube channel, you can export your Vids directly to YouTube.
Your exported video is uploaded to your default channel with its visibility set to “Private.” To upload your Vids to other channels you own or manage, download and upload as you would any other file.
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- In the menu, click File
Export to YouTube.
- Wait for the export to complete.
- To check your uploaded video in YouTube Studio, click Open now.
Watch a video shared with you
Anyone with a Google account can view a video shared with Google Vids.
Tip: To access Google Vids on your mobile device, you can use a compatible web browser. You can watch processed videos on your mobile device but you can't edit or add comments to videos.
